Aim:
The aim of the Chasing the Sun service is to provide an after business hours on-line professional reference service for patient care. The service takes advantage of global time differences between countries to offer out-of-hours librarian support for clinicians.

The initial participants in this project were the South Australian Health Services Libraries' Consortium (SAHSLC) and the South West Information for Clinical Effectiveness (SWICE) network but the intention is to involve other regions around the world to ensure reliability of the service. This will serve to broaden the time range available and enhance the reference expertise in responding quickly and accurately to queries from users. A list of participating libraries can be found under the Membership link.

Health libraries or groups of health libraries interested in learning more about the service should contact the administrators, whose details can be found in the Librarians' information brochure.
